4th Annual LIFT Foundation Charity Golf Tournament at Monarch Links Presented by RE/MAX Signature Services
We’d like to thank all of our sponsors and those of you who joined us last week for the 4th Annual LIFT Foundation Charity Golf Tournament at Monarch Links. Congratulations to our champions: Jeff Fisher, Richard Boldt, and Rudy Kamimsky.
The day couldn’t have been any nicer. We were able to avoid all of the rain with sunny skies and the temperature in the mid-80’s. Golfers started off at the putting green for our “hit it & win it” contest where we gave out some very nice bottles of high end booze. Tito’s Handmade Vodka sponsored our John Daly bar (a.k.a. spiked Arnold Palmer), and we had some awesome local brews hanging out in the beer garden.
We almost gave away $100,000 on hole number 5 with a few shots coming within feet of holing out our RE/MAX Signature Services Hole in One Challenge. Everyone made it back to the club house safe, even those trying out the new golf boards, just in time for margaritas and tacos. We ended the event with an epic sunset listening to Kevin Miso jam on the guitar.
First place finished -10, but for most of the golfers, they felt like winners just by being there. We hope this was the most fun round of golf you play all year and we promise to make this thing even better next year, so come back!
Become A Little Light Donor
A special thank to our sponsors and everyone who participated this year. For those of you who could not make this year’s tournament or were not able to stay for the ceremony, I’d like to introduce you to the Little Light Donor board. The outreaches that LIFT is doing in the community are starting to add up making a big impact on those around us. We’d like to give you the opportunity to join us in our efforts by becoming a Little Light Donor. Any donations received will go directly to our outreaches here in the local community. Any denomination will help us in our goal to end the poverty that’s taking place in our community literally right under our noses. To donate, please click the link below. LIFT will add donor names to the Little Light Donor board (pictured here with trophy) for any denominations greater than $100.
Your Amazing Support
Proceeds from the tournament are going to four amazing outreaches, three of them right here in our backyard. You helped us raise almost $40,000 this year for: The Mercy Warehouse, a local food bank in Aliso Viejo, CA that feeds over 1,000 per week: Project Self-Sufficiency a four-year degree scholarship program for at risk single moms in Huntington Beach, CA; The Young and Brave Foundation, a fundraising platform for kids and young adults battling cancer…several of their “Warriors” live right here in Orange County; and the Prostate Cancer Foundation to help put an end to this terrible disease that has directly affected many of us here at the LIFT Foundation.
We are that much closer to our goal of helping The Mercy Warehouse buy $1 million dollars of food. Every dollar we raise buys almost $10 of food because of the relationships John and Mike Hudgins at the Mercy Warehouse have been able to leverage with local grocers. Through this year, we will have raised $60,000 for this amazing outreach.
We’ve been able to connect the dots this year with the The Mercy Warehouse and Project Self-Sufficiency. The warehouse donated furnishings for an entire apartment for one of our PSS moms that we were able to deliver back in August. We are also midway through a diaper drive and have collected thousands of diapers for these moms. Moving into the holidays, South Coast Investment Advisors, one of the sponsors at this year’s tournament is hosting a Christmas toy drive for the kids at PSS. We are asking for your help. If your company would also be interested in hosting a toy drive for the families of Project Self-Sufficiency this year, please let us know. We will come pick up all the toys, we just need you to collect them. South Coast usually has everyone bring a toy to the Christmas Party. Contact Chris Vizzi at (949) 678-9361 or chris@liftfoundation.us.
Two of the organizations we’ve teamed up with this year are focussed on beating cancer. I don’t know one person who hasn’t been affected in some way, shape, or form by this disease. The Young and Brave Foundation has helped raise over $1 million for their warriors in just the last three years. Here is a link to all of the people they are helping right now. This organization is a living example of how #lovebeatscancer. We are also supporting the Prostate Cancer Foundation and have a summer golf tournament planned dedicated to this cause.
We hope you had a great time at this year’s tournament. We also hope you realize that just by showing up you are making an enormous impact in our community. So thank you, thank you, thank you. We hope to see you back again next year. We promise to make it even better!
