Date: Thursday, October 26th, 2017 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
The LIFT Foundation Charity Golf Tournament is one of the fastest growing charity golf tournaments in the OC, and arguably the most fun day of golf you’ll have all year. This year’s 5th Annual LIFT Foundation Charity Golf Tournament will be back at Monarch Links on Thursday, October 26th. Check-in starts at 10:00 am with all sorts of fun activities planned before a shotgun start scheduled for 12:00 pm. We’ve got some amazing organizations that proceeds will benefit this year: The Mercy Warehouse, Project Self-Sufficiency, The Young and Brave Foundation, and The Prostate Cancer Foundation. Last year’s tournament raised $40,000 and this year our goal is to double that figure.
We’ve got an absolutely awesome day planned for you. Start off in our Luxury Lounge, where we’ll be serving up cocktails made famous by none other than John Daly: top shelf vodka, iced tea, and lemonade. Traditional non-alcoholic Arnold Palmers will also be available. Head over to the putting green for a chance to win cash and prizes as well as some very nice bottles of adult beverages in our Hit It & Win It Contest. Warm up at the driving range with some target practice before a shotgun start at 12:00 pm. Every golfer will have a shot at the $100,000 Hole-in-One Challenge on No. 5 as well as a Longest Drive and Closest-to-the-Pin Contest during the round. RastaRita will be serving up hand-made margaritas throughout the day. Kevin Miso will be on the guitar after the awards ceremony for some live music to go with Izzy’s Famous tacos.

The Mercy Warehouse gives away free groceries three times a week, no questions asked, to people who might otherwise go hungry right here in Aliso Viejo, CA. When we started the LIFT Foundation we made a goal of helping The Mercy Warehouse buy $1 million dollars of food. Every dollar we raise buys roughly $10 of food because of the relationships John and Mike Hudgins at the Mercy Warehouse have been able to leverage with local grocers. Over the last four years, we have raised $60,000 for this outreach, more than half way to our goal of $100,000 which we hope to top this year.
Proceeds from the tournament have also enabled us to provide several scholarships to Project Self-Sufficiency (PSS). These scholarships help single parents obtain a four-year college degree and forever break the cycle of poverty. The Mercy Warehouse has also chipped in and donated furnishings for apartments for our PSS moms as these women move off the street into permanent housing. We’ve organized a massive diaper drive and have collected thousands of diapers over the last year. We also help with Christmas presents at the end of the year. Moving into the holidays, South Coast Investment Advisors, one of the sponsors at this year’s tournament is hosting a Christmas toy drive for the kids at PSS as they have for the last several years. We are asking for your help. If your company would also be interested in hosting a toy drive for the families of Project Self-Sufficiency this year, please let us know. We will come pick up all the toys, we just need you to collect them. South Coast usually has everyone bring a toy to their client Christmas Party. Contact Chris Vizzi at (949) 678-9361 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more details or if you would like to participate.
Once again, we’ve teamed up with two organizations determined on beating cancer, The Young and Brave Foundation and The Prostate Cancer Foundation. I don’t know one person who hasn’t been affected in some way, shape, or form by this ugly disease. The Young and Brave Foundation has helped raise over $1 million for their warriors in just the last four years. Here is a link to all of the people they are helping right now. This organization is a living example of how #lovebeatscancer. We are also supporting the Prostate Cancer Foundation and have a 2018 summer golf tournament planned dedicated to finding a cure.
